Christmas in our Classroom

We had the most lovely December. We completed some fabulous Christmas art. We made our own Christmas baubles for the tree, used chalk pastels for our snowmen and created our very own Christmas tree flower arrangement. We were so lucky so have the help of a mum of a pupil in our class. She guided us through the complete workshop using real Christmas tree branches, baubles, and ribbons.

Maths

1st class have been working really hard in maths this term. Recently we’ve enjoyed learning all about their tens and units in place value, money and patterns.

Science Week

What an exciting week in was in school. We hunted for mini-beasts. There was a science workshop in the Halla. A scientist came to visit us in our classroom and who showed us some very cool experiments. We also got to check out a cool skittles experiment among other things. We had a very busy week!

Maths or Art?? How great did out Shapensteins work out? First class were working hard on learning their 2d shapes.

Sponsored Walk

We headed to the park for our sponsored walk. After a walk filled with nature hunting we earned a well deserved stop at the playground before we headed back to school. It was a fabulous day and as you can see they thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you so much to everyone who kindly sponsored us for our walk.

Daily Mile

Jr. Infants, Sr. Infants and 1st Class took part in the daily mile throughout September and October. We all had great fun getting our daily exercise.

Maths Week

We had great fun during maths week. Some of our activities included 6th class coming to visit us, we also played some giant games and went on a fantastic maths trail all around the school!
