Good Shepherd NS have received the coveted Digital School of Distinction award!!!
This was not an easy achievement but is a result of lots of hard work over the last number of years by everyone in our school- all the staff, children, parents, members of the Board of Management and indeed the whole community of Churchtown who have tirelessly helped us to develop, fund and realise our vision of a Digital School of Excellence.
Our Board of Management have worked quietly behind the scenes with members of our Digital learning Committee, led by Ms. Donnelly, Ms. Smith, Ms. McGuinness and Mrs. Jackson to develop our Digital Learning Strategy. Upgrades to the school’s IT infrastructure including vastly improving our Wi-Fi network, investments in interactive panels and iPads for our children to use in Mainstream and also in our Special Education section have taken place. Our children and their teachers have engaged in interactive digital workshops improving their skills in the areas of coding, digital literacy and digital safety.
We will officially launch our Digital Schools of Distinction award in a ceremony in Autumn 2019. Once again thanks to all in our school community and the community of Churchtown who have made us a Digital School.
