Over the past two months 3rd Class have been very busy taking part in lots of fun activities.
In February we celebrated Friendship Week where we learned all about the importance of kindness, respect, and treating everyone around us with care. As part of this we enjoyed a wonderful Intercultural Day. This gave all of us in 3rd class the opportunity to learn about the many different countries and cultures represented in our class and school.
We also took part in World Book Week, which was a big highlight for everyone. The children dressed up as their favourite book characters and took part in lots of reading activities. We were also very lucky to have a special visitor who told us all about Irish folklore which the class really enjoyed.
In March, we celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge. The class made a great effort to use their phrasaí throughout the week and took part in a ceolchoirm. We performed the song “Dílín Ó Deamhas”, which was a brilliant experience and a great chance to showcase our learning.
It has been a very enjoyable and busy few months in 3rd Class!
May was a busy and exciting month for Third Class as we celebrated Wellbeing Week. The children successfully completed their 5km in May challenge by walking or running 1km each morning from Monday to Friday. It was a fantastic achievement and it was great to see so many parents and siblings there also.
The pupils also travelled to Cabinteely for a large athletics event where they represented the school brilliantly and gave their best effort in all activities. Our Sports Day was another highlight of the month with great participation, teamwork and fun on display throughout the day.
To round off a wonderful week the children took part in a GAA Blitz where they had the opportunity to develop their GAA skills while meeting and playing alongside pupils from other classes.
Another special moment this month was welcoming some very important visitors to our classroom! The chicks that had recently hatched in Senior Infants came to visit 3rd class and the children were delighted to meet them up close. It was a wonderful experience and a highlight for many of the pupils.
May was a fantastic month filled with lots of activity, friendship, learning, and fun.
